FW: [sensehelpsite] Info On Sensé and Beauty Counter Skin Care

Hello Global Energy Team,

I found this email very interesting information regarding Sensé and I thought you may enjoy reading it.

Regarding reviews, I normally do not post them on the site, but I will give you some information below on three products from this line.  I picked a day cream to show you the difference from Sensé, a night cream, once again nothing here to compare, and firming cream.  Most of all, our technologies like you see with Sensé; DSR™ and its MMP Inhibitors, or Regenisomes™  (found in the Day and Night creams) that help repair UV sun-ray damage to our cells. Most important of all, our Quantum Self Preserving has the most amazing delivery system for getting anti-aging and antioxidant ingredients to our skin cells.  All our technologies are beyond priceless, for anti-aging products.  All without irritating or questionable fragrant ingredients.

I do not read a skin care line sales pitch before the review, therefore, I do not have any distraction from the only thing that gives you the truth of the product. That is the ingredients they use.  Every product line has a story, and that is fine.  They can be interesting; it is great advertising, and most often is just a lot of fluff and emotion to catch your attention.  That is the art of business, but you cannot change what the ingredients are, and that is how the report below is based.  Irritating and fragrant ingredients harm skin cells, therefore, they are not "skin care" but selling ingredients.  Yes we need some due to the fragrance of some important ingredients, but that can be controlled where a delicate fragrance can be added at the end of a formula.  Preserving should also be at the end of a formula, when it is found near the top as you see in their Night Cream, that is a stronger amount of preserving. Makes me look deeper into the formula! Yes at the end, I looked at a few comments but not all you suggested. One true comment was "Yes it is important what you put in and "on" your skin.  That comment does not fly with some of the ingredients you will see reviewed in the sample products chosen!  I hope the following information below helps! You know the problems with Skin Deep, EWG  and the other fear monger sites, so we don't need to get into that.

Every Day AM Hydrating Cream

It's not bad, but it's not anything to get excited about, especially when you consider the fragrance ingredients are present in greater concentrations than all of the antioxidants! There is absolutely nothing about this cream that makes it more suitable for daytime use than BeautyCounter's Every Day PM Hydrating Cream. Ideally, any product labeled for daytime use should also include sunscreens, which this does not. You could wear a sunscreen over it, but with so many brilliant moisturizing SPF products to select from, (like Sensé Daytime Protective) why bother applying two moisturizers when you only need one? Given that sun damage is pro-aging, this is a problematic oversight on the part of a company claiming to worry about your skin's safety.  (See comments below in my tag at the end of this email, sunscreens are the most important antiaging ingredient)  In addition to the lack of sun protection and the inclusion of fragrance, you won't find an impressive amount of beneficial antioxidants or other anti-aging ingredients that you should expect to see in a quoted "best" moisturizer.

INGREDIENTS: Water (Aqua), Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Cetearyl Olivate, Cetearyl Glucoside, Cetearyl Alcohol, Lavandula Angustifolia (Lavender) Flower Extract, Euterpe Oleracea (Acai) Fruit Extract, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Fruit Extract, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Bisabolol, Sorbitan Olivate, Panthenol, Beta Glucan, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Xanthan Gum, Maltodextrin, Xylitol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Allantoin, Phenoxyethanol,(mild chemical preserving ingredient)  Ethylhexylglycerin (natural preserving ingredient)

Countertime Radiance Firming Complex

The ingredients near the bottom of the ingredient list. Though not present in high amounts, orange and lemon extracts, ginger root extract, and jasmine and rose oils all pose a risk of irritation, which is pro-aging. They make this serum smell nice, but as said many times before, fragrance is not skincare!

INGREDIENTS: Water, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate, Sclerotium Gum, Saccharum Officinarum (Sugar Cane) Extract, Cetyl Alcohol, Polyglyceryl-6 Palmitate/Succinate, Propanediol, Glyceryl Caprylate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sodium Hydroxide, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Sodium Benzoate, Caprylhydroxamic Acid, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Trehalose, Bisabolol, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Fruit Extract, Spilanthes Acmella Flower Extract, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Sucrose, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Seed Oil, Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Seed Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Fruit Extract, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Fruit Extract, Hydrolyzed Algin, Boerhavia Diffusa Root Extract, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Camellia Oleifera Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Sea Water, Chlorella Vulgaris Extract, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-37, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Extract, Algae Extract, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Oil, Artemisia Pallens Flower Oil, Jasminum Officinale (Jasmine) Oil, Mimosa Tenuiflora Bark Extract, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil.

Countertime Restorative Night Cream

While the ingredients in this product might not necessarily transform your skin overnight, they can contribute to overall healthier-looking skin by adding moisture and stimulating collagen production. However, any  potential is undone by the JAR packaging, which will render some of its best ingredients ineffective.  As we all know, because it's housed in a jar, those great antioxidants will begin to break down soon after you open the container.  Considering how much products cost, you should be getting your money's worth in benefits until you use the whole thing up!  However, the formula isn't as exciting as those of the best moisturizers on the market; this one could have been improved by adding more powerhouse anti-aging ingredients.

INGREDIENTS: Water, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Oleosomes, Propanediol, Coconut Alkanes, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Cetyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Stearic Acid, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Glycerin, Sodium Benzoate, Carbomer, Coco-Caprylate/Caprate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Xanthan Gum, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Seed Oil, Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Seed Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Trisodium Ethylenediamine Disuccinate, Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Camellia Oleifera Leaf Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Hydrolyzed Algin, Sea Water, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-37, Chlorella Vulgaris Extract, Sucrose, Anthemis Nobilis Flower Oil, Artemisia Pallens Flower Oil, Jasminum Officinale (Jasmine) Oil, Mimosa Tenuiflora Bark Extract, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil.
